Lifecycles – Gateshead International Jazz Festival 2016.

For those of you who are in the North-East this April (or fancy a trip to Newcastle) we are delighted to be teaming up as educational partners for a rather large project at the Gateshead International Jazz Festival 2016. Over the past few months our Artistic Director Phil Meadows has been working closely with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Jambone to create the largest performance of the Lifecycles suite to date!

The music freshly orchestrated and rehearsals are underway as 60 musicians get stuck in as we team up with Sage Gateshead, YMP and the jazz festival itself to bring an afternoon of orchestral mayhem to the humongous Hall One at The Sage featuring a stellar small group, the North-East’s top youth jazz orchestra and one of the countries finest classical ensemble.

If you would like to know more then check out Phil and Matt Roberts (our Lifecycles conductor) talking about what they have in store.

Performance Information: April 16th – 2pm – Hall One – Sage Gateshead.
