Phronesis, Dave Maric and Engines Orchestra Hit Cheltenham Jazz Festival!

We’ve been keeping this one a secret for a while so are buzzing to let you know! This year we’ll be teaming up with internationally acclaimed jazz trio Phronesis to give the world premiere of Decade Zero by composer Dave Maric. We’re mega-fans of  Jasper HøibyAnton Eger and Ivo Neame and it’s such an honour for us to work with the uber talented Dave Maric, who’s been sending us some very exciting snippets to check out already!

Phil Meadows is our conductor for this project and we can’t wait to welcome him back after taking the baton with Ingrid Jensen  last year. We’ll be taking eight musicians; four strings and four winds to perform the piece which explores loops, rhythms and textures inspired by Phronesis’ high-energy performances, off-kilter grooves and Dave Maric’s own world of contemporary classical music, as we bridge genres in an unmissable premiere.

The show takes place at 12:30pm on Saturday 29th April, tickets go on sale on February 22nd. We hope to see you there!
