Education.

As a charitable organisation, whose core principal is to unite musical diversity, our combination of 60 professional musicians can draw on a wealth of knowledge, experience and cultural relativity. This puts us in a unique position to deliver inspiring, cross-genre educational projects.

These have included:

  • Creative Music, Together' - our jazz-meets classical improvisation course for under 18’s (in partnership with D’Addario, NYJO and Sydenham High School).

  • The Audience Commission - developing brand new works based on audience input, that are premiered as part of an eO performance (in partnership with EFG London Jazz Festival).

  • LifeCycles - a four-month professional development project based around our debut collaboration with Phil Meadows (in partnership with Sage Gateshead, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Jambone Youth Big Band).

  • How To Build A Project - Multiple guest lectures at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to offer insight to undergraduate/postgraduate students on how to get their projects off the ground.

  • Beethoven Deconstructed - working in partnership with Southbank Sinfonia we have used famous classical works as a starting point for creativity, composition and improvisation.

  • Professional Development Panels - our Artistic Director regularly works with Help Musicians’, PRS for Music and the Ivors Academy and has sat on open advice panels across the country with a wide variety of focus.
